Privacy Policy for Converter
Last updated: 20 August 2026
Converter is a unit and currency conversion app for iPhone. This policy explains what information is collected when you use it, who collects it, and what choices you have.
Information the app collects
None. Converter does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, or location. There is no account to create and nothing to sign in to.
Two things are saved on your device only, and never sent anywhere:
- A cached copy of the most recent currency exchange rates, so the app works offline.
- Whether you have purchased "Remove Ads".
Both are deleted when you delete the app.
Advertising
The free version of Converter displays banner advertisements supplied by Google AdMob. Google is an independent company and its collection of data is governed by its own privacy policy, not this one.
To serve ads, Google may collect:
- Your device's advertising identifier
- Your IP address, and an approximate location derived from it
- Device information such as model and operating system version
- Information about how you interact with ads that are shown
You can read how Google uses this information at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, and Google's own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Your choices about advertising
- Tracking permission. The first time you open Converter, iOS asks whether the app may track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalised. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Consent (EU, UK, and Switzerland). If you are in a region covered by GDPR, you will be shown a consent form before any personalised advertising data is collected. You can reopen it at any time from Converter → Settings → Ad privacy choices.
- Remove ads entirely. A one-time in-app purchase removes all advertising from the app. Once purchased, no ads are displayed and no ad requests are made.
Exchange rate data
To show current currency rates, the app requests published reference rates from frankfurter.app, which sources them from the European Central Bank. This request contains no personal information about you — it asks only for the day's published rates. As with any request to any website, the operator of that service may record the IP address the request came from.
Rates are provided for information only and are not intended for trading purposes.
Purchases
The "Remove Ads" purchase is processed entirely by Apple. Payment is handled through your Apple Account, and the developer of this app never receives or has access to your payment card details, billing address, or Apple Account credentials.
Children
Converter is not directed to children under the age of 13, and does not knowingly collect information from children. The advertising in the app is not configured as child-directed.
Data sharing and sale
The developer of Converter does not sell, rent, or share any personal information, because none is collected. Advertising data is handled by Google as described above.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects privacy — for example if analytics or an additional service is added — this policy will be updated and the date at the top of this page will change.
